The History of Crown Perth
The story of Crown Perth began during the 1980s, when Perth businessman Dallas Dempster, despite numerous challenges, finally built a huge 135-table casino. The casino was naturally accompanied by luxurious and popular amenities such as a luxury hotel, an amphitheatre, a convention centre and a golf course. He opened this, the Burswood Island Casino in 1985. During the course of the next few decades, effective management conducted various improvements and expansions, as the complex filled out to include a VIP area, and a popular bar with trendy nightclub. Publishing and Broadcasting under Kerry Packer bought out the Crown Perth in 2004 and re-named it the Burswood Entertainment Complex.
Continuous Expansion Projects Happening
In slightly more recent times, another VIP area, called The Pearl Room, as well as a higher stakes room, a sports bar and a poker room were added to great fanfare. More renovations and improvements are currently happening with an entirely new six star hotel currently under construction at the resort. Fresh resort-style pool facilities, an upgraded convention centre, a 2300 seat theatre and day spa are also scheduled to be added.
